IAD Awards 2010 is organized by:-

3.Definitions
3.1 IAD Awards Committee–Directors, Employees & Associates of Sun Event Management Pvt Ltd
3.2 Competition–IAD Awards 2010-Excellence in Interiors & Architecture Design Awards 2010
3.3 Participants-Any individual, group, firm, company or institute who sends in entry to participate in the Competition.
3.4 Sponsors-Any individual, group or company who will back up the finance of the competition & avails marketing opportunities.
3.5 Partners-Any individual, group or company who will promote the competition & avails marketing opportunities.
3.6 Professionals- An individual who is graduate/post graduate from stream of architecture, interior design & engineering.
3.7 Non-Professionals-An individual not having formal training from stream of architecture, interior design & engineering.
3.8 Students-An individual who is pursuing his/her graduation/post graduation in stream of architecture, interior design & engineering.
3.9 Entry-Project as per guidelines & conditions mentioned in competition categories, voting, time lines & charges.
3.10 Registration-Registration form shipped with applicable charges at communication address & accepted by IAD Awards 2010 committee.
3.11 Last date-The date beyond which h IAD Awards 2010 committee will not accept entries.
3.12 Nominated Participants-Top 20 scorers per category.
3.13 Final Participants-Top 5 scrorers per category.
3.14 Judges-Group of persons/subject matter experts who will rate the entries.
3.15 Media-CD/DVD/Pen Drive.

4. Award categories, project & who can participate.
4.1 IAD Best Architect Residential.
Awards are by selection of architecture part done of bungalow, apartment, villa, flat, independent house, farm house & related projects completed/proposed. Awards are open for professional individual architect, group of architects, architectural firms, private & government organizations.

4.2 IAD Best Architect Commercial Office.
Awards are by selection of architecture part done of commercial building, commercial tower & related projects completed/proposed. Awards are open for professional individual architect, group of architects, architectural firms, private & government organizations.

4.3 IAD Best Architect Institutional.
Awards are by selection of architecture part done of college, institute, university, hospital, court, embassy, ministry & related projects completed/proposed. Awards are open for professional individual architect, group of architects, architectural firms, private government organization.

4.4 IAD Best Architect Hospitality
Awards are by selection of architecture part done of hotel, club, banquet, guest house, & related projects completed/proposed. Awards are open for professional individual architect, group of architects, architectural firms, private and government organizations.

Awards are by selection of civil work done of any residential or commercial project completed/proposed. Awards are open for professional/non-professional individual civil engineer, group of civil engineers, civil engineering firms, private & government
organizations.

4.18 IAD Best Builder Residential
Awards are by selection of apartment, flat, independent house, farm house & penthouse projects completed/proposed. Awards are open for individual builders, group of builders, companies, private & government organizations.

4.19 IAD Best Builder Commercial
Awards are by selection of shopping mall, shop, big corporate office, movie hall, amusement & recreational park projects completed/proposed. Awards are open for individual builders, group of builders, companies, private & government organizations.

4.20 IAD Best Student Architect Residential
Awards are by selection of assumed architecture part done of bungalow, apartment, villa, flat, independent house, farm house & related projects designed/proposed. Awards are open for all Architecture students of 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, & 10th semester.

4.21 IAD Best Student Architect Commercial
Awards are by selection of assumed architecture part done of commercial building, tower, college, hospital, shopping mall, showroom & related projects designed/proposed. Awards are open for all Architecture students of 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th & 10th semester.

4.22 IAD Best Student Interior Designer Residential
Awards are by selection of assumed interior work done of bungalow, apartment, villa, flat, independent house, farm house & related projects designed/proposed. Awards are open for all Interior students doing degree/diploma.

4.23 IAD Best Student Interior Designer Commercial
Awards are by selection of assumed interior work done of commercial building, tower, college, hospital, shopping mall, showroom & related projects designed/proposed. Awards are open for all Interior students doing degree/diploma.

4.24 IAD Best Student Structural Engineer
Awards are by selection of assumed structure part done of any commercial or residential project designed/proposed. Awards are open for all engineering students of 5th,6th,7th & 8th semesters studying in India.

4.25 IAD Best Student Civil Engineer
Awards are by selection of assumed civil part done of any commercial or residential project designed/proposed. Awards are open for all engineering students of 5th,6th,7th & 8th semesters studying in India.

5. Receipt of entries
5.1 Only complete entries as per conditions will be entertained.
5.2 Receipt of entries after the last date of receipt specified may be permitted only at the discretion of IAD Awards 2010 committee, only if requested.
5.3 IAD Awards 2010 committee will not be responsible for entries that are lost in transit or received late.
5.4 IAD Awards 2010 committee will not be responsible for media damage in transit.
5.5 Incomplete forms in any manner will disqualify a participant from participation in the competition.
5.6 Entries will be accepted in English only.
5.7 The registration form needs to be signed off by the participants signature on all the pages including competition rules & regulations.

6. Incorrect Information
6.1 IAD Awards 2010 committee has the right to ask for proof of information provided and may audit the information provided in the participants registration form. If such a request is made and the participants does not agree, the participants could be disqualified from participation in the competition.
6.2 If, at any time, any information provided by any participants is found to be incorrect in any manner, then the participant will not be permitted to continue participation in present and future prestigious IAD Awards.
6.3 If, after the conclusion of the competition, any information provided by the participant is found to be incorrect in any manner, the participants will be liable to return the award and any monetary/non-monetary incentives provided as part of the award.
6.4 Determination of whether information is incorrect or not rest with IAD Awards 2010 committee.

7. Parameters of Judging
7.1 Professionals

  • Originality, innovation and creativity –with respect to regional, national & international standards.
  • Functionality, efficiency and fidelity to clients briefs –space planning, built in constraints and opportunity design methodology.
  • Contextual reference and environmental concern –appropriateness of the design –in terms of suitability/effectiveness/functionality and general environmental/climate concern addressed by the designer.
  • Detailing / use of material-Innovative use of material, experimentation with new material, depth of detailing, innovative details.
  • Cohesion to concept in design development-how the concept has been successfully translated into the finished product.
  • Sensorial and spatial experiences-the total experience generated by the project.

7.2 Non-Professionals

  • Display & flair for design.
  • Creativity.
  • Sense of detail.
  • Sense of color / texture / scale / proportion.
  • Articulation.
  • Quality of workmanship.

7.3 Students

  • Ideas visualized.
  • Concept theories.
  • Evolved design.
  • Unique & innovative approach.
  • Respect towards region, culture and environment.
  • Clarity in presentation.

8. Shortlistings of entries for competition
8.1 Jury will evaluate and give marks to collated list of entries based on competition submission points to determine nominated participants for final round.
8.2 Nominated participants may be called for presentation for determination of final participants.
8.3 Set of final jury members will evaluate & declare final three in final round.
8.4 In the event no entries in a category are found to be worthy of inclusion in the competition, the category could be cancelled at the discretion of juries or IAD Awards 2010 committee.
8.5 The jury may decide, in order to maintain high standards of this competition that there could be no finalist in a particular category.
8.6 Jury decision is final, binding on all participants & is non contestable.
8.7 Jury is not liable for any legality.

9. General Rules for submission
9.1 Hard copy of accepted & attested competition rules & regulations form is must.
9.2 All the projects must be executed as per time conditions mentioned in awards category.
9.3 Entry is called in a CD / DVD / Pen drive.
9.4 Multiple projects can be submitted in single CD / DVD / pen drive.
9.5 You may submit the entry individually or in groups for the competition.
9.6 The number of persons group is limited to a maximum of five. Each participation in a group must individually fill registration form & submit demand draft of Rs 500 per member extra apart from competition charges for separate participation certificates.
9.7 For students a photo copy of the ID proof clearly mentioning the name of institute / college and stream in which student(s) are studying is must.
9.8 For students if any studio work submitted as an entry must be accompanied by a signed letter in original by the overseeing faculty member confirming the authorship of the work, with his / her contact details for verification in case of need.

10. General rules for timelines
10.1 Last date of confirming entry is ………………., if not requested.
10.2 No entry / registration will be allowed after specified time in competition time lines.
10.3 Requested entries will be entertained with reasons of delay.
10.4 Efforts will be made to follow the above mentioned timelines. However, in the event of circumstances beyond the control of awards committee, these timelines may need to be altered.

11. General rules for competition charges
11.1 Entries without competition entry processing charge will not be entertained.
11.2 All the payments are accepted in form of demand draft only.
11.3 Entry charge is mentioned for ONE entry only & includes applicable taxes.
11.4 For group participation kindly add Rs. 100/-
11.5 A common draft can be prepared for multiple entry submission.
11.6 Participants will be responsible for shipping charges associated with sending the entry to awards committee.
11.7 Only computer generated soft copy invoice will be forwarded by awards committee.

12. Copyright
Sun Event Management Pvt. Ltd., India retains the right of duplication and publication of any or all material submitted to the competition with due acknowledgement of the authorship of the entries.

13. General Rules
13.1 Decision of IAD Awards 2010 committee on all matters is final and binding on all entrants and no correspondence will be entertained on the same.
13.2 Participants and winners permit free of cost the use of their name and factual information about there participation in the public media and do not have right to any revenues earned through intellectual property rights generated by the awards, if any.
13.3 The company will not liable for any claims / disputes made by the participants, winners in relation to the competition.
13.4 The company reserves the right to withdraw or amend these terms at any time and does not take responsibility for any loss or damage that any person or organization may suffer as a result of participating or attempting to participate in the competition, the competition being withdrawn or its terms amended.
13.5 The company cannot and shall not be accountable / liable for any disruptions stoppages / interruptions or cancellation of the competition. The company and its associates cannot be held responsible for matters out of its control and for force majeure reasons.
13.6 Additions / deletions / modifications to these rules are at the discretion of the company and the company may make such additions / deletions / modifications, at any time before or after the completion.
13.7 All disputes relating to or arising out of the competition shall be subject to the laws of India, and shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of competent jurisdiction at Karnal, India.
13.8 The participants, nominees, finalists and winners agree that they shall hold harmless the company and sponsors, its employees, officers, contractors, or other persons and shall defend them against any loss, claim, demands, costs, damages, judgements, expenses or liability arising out of or in connection with any or all claims whether or not groundless, that may be brought against the company by any third party in connection with participation in or winning the competition.
